ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Bayern were defeated 2-0 by Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday after goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele sent the Champions League winners through to the semi-finals. The result meant Muller, who announced he was leaving the club earlier this year, has played his last game for the only club he has played football for. Despite making his final appearance, the German forward did not reflect too deeply on his time at the club and refused to be drawn into discussions about his future career plans.

WHAT MULLER SAID
Speaking after the game, Muller said: "I'm still fully in work mode now. It doesn't feel much different from before the game when we tried, and I also tried, to just get one round further.
"In the end, maybe we deserved more. But in football when you have these tight matches, it's sometimes a coin flip. And, yes, we lost it.
"Of course, I am aware that this was my last game, and I will see what goes through my head in the coming days.
"At the moment, I'm not in the mood to share my deeper thoughts about my career. We lost a big fight, a very important game for us."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
There remains lots of speculation around Muller's future, with a number of MLS clubs chasing his signature. There had been reports that David Beckham's Inter Miami were trying to bring the German to the club to play alongside Lionel Messi – whose own future is up in the air. Muller has not given any indication of his preference of his next destination, but, now that Bayern are out of the Club World Cup and Muller will leave the Bavarian giants, discussions will no doubt ramp up.

WHAT NEXT FOR MULLER?
Muller will take time to assess all of his options before settling on his new club. A move to the MLS appears the most likely destination for the 35-year-old who is looking to wind down his career outside of Europe.
